Bhubaneswar,29/12: Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2024 of Odisha Cricket Association took place today at OCA Conference Hall.
A minute of condolence was observed for the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India, as well as for the demise of Adhip Das, Subhasis Bhuyan, and Rajesh Singh.
Sanjay Behera, Secretary, OCA, informed the house that Pranab Prakash Das has resigned from the post of President of the association, citing personal reasons in his resignation. In light of this, his resignation was presented before the house today, and it was unanimously accepted. The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) extends its heartfelt gratitude to Pranab Prakash Das for his dedicated
services to the association. I was resolved in the meeting that Pankaj Lochan Mohanty will be the acting president of OCA till the next election.
The following major discussions took place, apart from the regular agendas of the OCA:
-Feeder Centre for Girls: 30 top women cricketers from the U-14 category will be enrolled in the Feeder Centre, where OCA will provide education. The girls will be accommodated at the Sachin Tendulkar Indoor Hall.
-Feeder Centre for Boys: 50 U-14 boys will be accommodated at the OCA Academy’s Feeder Centre, where they will receive high-quality coaching and academic support to balance their education and cricket careers.
– Overseas Tournament Exposure: OCA is organizing overseas and out-of-state exposure tours for 30 selected players from U-19, U-23, and senior teams to enhance their skills and experience diverse playing conditions.
-Franchise League: OCA is launching a franchise-based league to promote local talent and provide a competitive platform for emerging players across Odisha.
-Revamped Kalahandi Cup Structure: The Kalahandi Cup will feature 38 districts, divided into six groups. The top team from each group will advance to the knockout stages, with two additional teams qualifying based on points and Net Run Rate.
– Revised Ticket Rates for ODI Match (India vs. England): The ticket rates for the ODI match between India and England, scheduled at Barabati Stadium on 9th February 2025, have been reduced as per the recommendations of Hon’ble Minister of Sports & Youth Services, Suryabanshi Suraj.

The OCA Annual Felicitation & Cultural Program, scheduled to be held on 31st December 2024, has been postponed to a later date due to the sad demise of the former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh, as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Pankaj Lochan Mohanty (Vice President) presided over the meeting, along with him, Sanjay Behera (Secretary), Prabhat Kumar Bhol (Joint Secretary), Bikash Pradhan (Treasurer), Pratap Chandra Pradhan (Member Apex Council) & Subrat Kumar Behera (CEO) along with other distinguished members of OCA were present.
