Cuttack,8/5: A Special General Meeting of Odisha Cricket Association was held today at 7:30 PM in OCA Conference Hall, Barabati Stadium. President Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty presided over the meeting.
BCCI has been pleased to award our state the 2nd T-20 International between India Vs South Africa in the SOUTH AFRICA TOUR OF INDIA T20 SERIES to be played at Barabati Stadium on 12th June 2022 under flood lights.
We are going to host an international event after a gap of more than two years.
In this regard, Shri Sanjay Behera (Secretary, OCA) informed the house that, OCA has already requested Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Minister of Sports and Y
S Dept. Tusharkanti Behera, R Vineel Krishna I A S (Comm Cum Secretary, Sports & Y S Dept. of Govt of Odisha), S K Priyadarsi I P S (C P, Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar & Cuttack) and also with SRC Department to conduct this match with spectator. We are hopeful that the state government will consider our request.
In the Special General Meeting of OCA held today, two budgets were placed, one with spectator and another without spectators and it has been approved in the Finance Committee. After a prolonged discussion it was decided that the President, Secretary & the Finance Committee will work out and finalize the Budget.
Further it may be intimated that this match will be played under the newly installed LED Flood lights, and this is the first LED based flood light in our State. Also, it may be intimated that the
outfield of the Barabati Stadium has been transformed into a sand based and already we had conducted many BCCI Domestic matches.
Many distinguished members of the Odisha Cricket Association were present along with the following office bearers,
Sanjay Behera (Secretary), Mehtab Khan (Joint Secretary) and Bikash Pradhan
(Treasurer). Subrat Kumar Behera, CEO of OCA was also present in the meeting.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair given by Mehtab Khan (Joint Secretary).
